Leaders asked to motivate youth to engage in informal sector

Leaders across the country have been urged to help youths to identify available opportunities in order to create jobs instead of waiting to be employed by the government.

The remark was made on Saturday by Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Dar-es-Salaam Catholic Church, Titus Mdoe during a special Mass to ordain four deacons held at the Kunduchi  Mtongani Catholic Church.

“There are a lot of opportunities in the agricultural sector, we need to assist youths to grab them,” he said.

He called on leaders who have the responsibility to serve the community to be honest and work for the benefit of the nation.
“Everyone has to fulfill his responsibility whether in education or health sector to ensure that people get desired services,” Bishop Mdoe said.

He underscored the need to help farmers shift from traditional hoe farming to modern agriculture so that they can reap more for domestic and commercial consumption.

According to him, most of the problems that Tanzanians face these days are associated with poor leadership. He said that top leaders have the responsibility of ensuring availability of social services to wananchi as well as support small holder famers to access market for their produce.

“As a leader you should first understand the problems facing people and identify their challenges in order to find appropriate solution,” he said.

He advised youths to work tirelessly for their own development and the country. He said there is no a country in the world that attained development without proper planning and hard work.
